Marco Rossi is a star, about whom we food-writers do not give enough air-time.
I have had the pleasure of eating there several times now, a pleasure for which I doth my cap to Ottava Vino, the organisers of these amazing wine-dinners.
Tucked away behind the touristy rue Montorgueil, the restaurant itself gives off a rather exclusive vibe. Black exterior, thick curtains and bare brick walls; there are approximately 30 covers. An open kitchen means that Rossi is able to keep a watchful eye on the tables. Once the service has calmed down, he’ll walk around the room exchanging a few words with the guests.
Every time, without fail, Rossi is able to concoct a dish which pairs perfectly with the chosen wine. Using a range of well-selected and seasonal ingredients, his cuisine is innovative and imaginative.
A very impressive wine list too – tu peux vraiment te faire plaisir ici.
Lunch menu 25 euros; evening tasting menu (four courses) 45-50 euros.
