A couple of weeks ago, I felt very Parisienne. I was (in my most melodramatic voice) getting away from it all for the day. I found myself visiting Fontainebleau
I can't recommend highly enough the restaurant "Au Sommelier du Chateau." A man and woman team, putting in front of you plate after plate of high quality, tasty, fresh food. We started with a platter of charcuterie, followed by the Sommelier Salad (pictured below) and then a café gourmand (comprising a chocolate fondant, rose ice cream and a jar of pineapple in a caramel sauce. Washed down with a glass (or two) of South African Pinotage, sitting in the warm sunshine, it couldn't have been a better lunch.
Called "Au Sommelier du Chateau" because the man in this man-woman team is fully-trained, highly-aclaimed sommelier. They have a very interesting selection of wines and the best bit is that they have a wine pairing suggestion for each menu item.
