September 3 2011
Widely known for being the oldest independant wine shop in Paris, Les Caves Augé have been in business since 1850. They're also very well-known for their extensive selection of natural wines.
The boss, Marc Sibard, is convinced that the future of the wine market is with natural and organic wines and he may well be right. If you have never tried one, I suggest you come in and ask for a suggestion or stop by for one of their public tastings. (see website for more details.) I should also say (for the sake of objectivity) that I worked here for a month in the summer of 2011. I can therefore tell you first hand that they really do have a great selection of wines, at all price points. Not only that, but their range of whiskies, spirits and liqueurs on offer is second only to La Maison du Whisky.
open Monday - Saturday, 10am-7.30pm
