Croissant Competition: Part Eight
I was in need of a bittova-butter-boost before coming into work today. I've heard lots of good things about the Aubrac Corner just off the Champs Elysées (and not just for their steak!) so I decided to give them a go.
The first thing that actually knocked me for six was how friendly the sales assistant was! This wasn't even 9am and I was greeted by a beaming smile! Wow.
However, as for the croissants themselves, they're a bit too dry, there's too much air and not enough butter. I liked the fact that they were mini-viennoseries - 3 of them for 1 euro is actually a very good deal, and if you're in Paris with children or with friends and you're looking for something to share, this is a pretty cost-efficient option. I just wish the croissants had been a little bit more moist, because it seem even though the Aubrac Corner obviously do some things really well, croissants are not one of them.
